This ethnographic dictionary documents Dzob Wampar, spoken in Papua New Guinea’s Markham Valley. Entries combine English meanings with examples and information about everyday practices, places, plants and animals, reflecting decades of Hans Fischer’s field research and Bettina Beer’s work preparing the volume.
Introductory sections explain orthography, language variation and aspects of grammar. The dictionary also records vocabulary influenced by German, Jabem and Tok Pisin, while an English–Wampar finder list provides another route into the entries. This first complete posthumous publication preserves the original example sentences and supporting ethnographic detail.
