C. W. Leadbeater describes clairvoyance within a Theosophical account of consciousness and the planes of existence. He distinguishes forms of perception that he associates with the immediate surroundings, distant places, past events and possible future events.
Nine chapters combine explanations of the proposed faculties with reported examples and a discussion of their development. Leadbeater addresses readers already interested in Theosophy and uses its terminology throughout. This complete 1918 Krotona reprint preserves the historical text first published in 1899 and its index; it is distinct from J. C. F. Grumbine's book on clairvoyance.
