Use of a Numerical Groundwater-Flow Model and Projected Climate Scenarios To Simulate the Effects of Future Climate Conditions on Base Flow for Reach 1 of the Washita River Alluvial Aquifer and Foss Reservoir Storage, Western Oklahoma

About this book

Future climate conditions may affect the groundwater that supports river flow and reservoir storage in western Oklahoma. This study uses a numerical groundwater-flow model to investigate those relationships for part of the Washita River alluvial aquifer and Foss Reservoir.

Projected climate scenarios are translated into model inputs and compared to examine changes in base flow and water availability. Maps, tables and simulation results show the assumptions and differences among the scenarios. Prepared with the Bureau of Reclamation, the complete original report preserves its methods, results and references.
