This report investigates PFAS in surface waters of the nontidal Passaic River Basin in New Jersey. Sampling across the Wanaque, Ramapo, Pompton, and Passaic watersheds provides a basis for comparing concentrations among places, seasons, and flow conditions.
The study analyses individual PFAS alongside additional water-quality measurements and examines possible relationships with land cover, potential sources, and wastewater contributions. A subset of sites was sampled during rain events to compare those conditions with the regular base-flow observations.
Readers will find a regional environmental investigation that connects chemical monitoring with the characteristics of an interconnected river network. Maps, tables, methods, and references explain the sampling programme and analytical approach. The complete report distinguishes measured patterns from interpretations of their potential drivers, providing context for understanding the distribution of these substances within the study area.
