North Central Climate Adaptation Science Center Regional Science Plan—2023–28

by The North Central Climate Adaptation Science Center

About this book

This regional science plan explains how the North Central Climate Adaptation Science Center connects climate research with the needs of resource managers in a seven-state region. It describes the center’s partners and operations before setting out priorities for ecosystems, habitats, water and wildlife.

Six management issues structure the plan: habitat loss and connectivity, water availability and drought, wildlife disease, invasive species and encroachment, wildfire, and seasonal timing. Maps and diagrams show the region, partnerships and priority ecosystems, while the closing sections consider implementation and the research needed to support decisions. Published in September 2024, the complete report covers the 2023–2028 planning period.
