A. P. Sinnett sets out a Theosophical account of human nature, spiritual development and the structure of the universe. He presents teachings concerning successive lives, states of consciousness and the relationship between visible and invisible existence.
The chapters develop an interconnected explanation of the soul's progress and the larger cycles within which Sinnett places it. This is the eighth annotated and enlarged edition of 1898, retaining the author's additions and original pages. The work first appeared in 1883, as the preface to this edition records.
