Die bevölkerungsnahe Polizei(-arbeit) und ihre Grenzen: Potenzial und rechtliche Hindernisse in der Schweiz

by Roman Schuppli

About this book

Roman Schuppli examines what it means for police work to be close to the population it serves. Rather than treating that description as self-explanatory, the German-language monograph identifies its different elements and asks how they operate within Swiss police law.

The analysis considers the organization and legal authority of police institutions, the relationship between police and communities, and the opportunities and constraints that existing law creates. It distinguishes general aspirations from measures that can be given a concrete legal and institutional form.

The complete first edition retains the original legal authorities, bibliography and detailed examination of potential obstacles to implementation. It provides a sustained study of public authority and the legal structure of police practice in Switzerland.
