Determining Low-Flow Conditions at Select Streams to Barnegat Bay-Little Egg Harbor as the First Step Towards the Development of Ecological-Flow Targets

by Christine M. Wieben, Jonathan G. Kennen and Thomas P. Suro

About this book

This USGS report evaluates low-flow conditions in selected streams of the Barnegat Bay–Little Egg Harbor watershed. It develops a hydrological foundation for ecological-flow targets by examining streamgage records and measures that describe the magnitude, timing and persistence of low flows.

The study explains the selection and analysis of flow metrics, compares conditions across sites and considers how the results can support future ecological assessment. Maps, graphs and tables connect the statistical work with the streams and watershed under study.

The complete publication appeared in 2025 within the 2024 report series. It preserves the original methods, results, references and supporting material.
