Ernesto Bozzano assembles accounts in which a person communicating through a medium, or appearing as an apparition, was identified with someone who had died. His organizing question is how the identity was established and what information was available to the witnesses.
The cases are grouped according to the circumstances of recognition and communication. Bozzano compares the reports, weighs their evidential features and develops his interpretation of them.
