This study documents a reference material designed to evaluate methods for measuring elements, arsenic species and related components in geoduck clam tissue and similar biological materials. It follows the production of the frozen homogenized material through the measurements and statistical evaluation used to characterize it.
The complete report includes assessments of homogeneity, analytical procedures for trace elements and inorganic arsenic, measurements by NIST and the National Metrology Institute of Japan, and the supporting tables and calculations. Its original experimental detail provides a record of how the certified and reference values were established.
