Standard Reference Material 1989 provides irregularly shaped epoxy particles in three nominal size groups. This report documents how the material was produced, measured and evaluated for certification.
Optical and electron microscopy are used to characterize apparent particle dimensions and dimensions corrected for diffraction. The authors explain the measurement procedures, statistical analysis and sources of uncertainty that support the certified values. Original micrographs, diagrams and tables accompany the account of the reference material and its intended measurement role.
